In the name of God, the most Compassionate, the most Merciful

Verse (2:255) runs: "Allah, there is no God save Him, the Everliving, the Everlasting. Slumber does not seize him, nor does sleep." That is, He is eternally living and the source of eternal life as well. He is self-sustaining and sustains the world and the people in it. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him.

"Unto Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth." That is, everything belongs to Him.
