Surah: 001 - Ayah: 001

The Suratu'l-Fatihah, Opening Chapter of the Qur’an, because it comprises all Qur’anic realities and gnoses, is called Ummu'l-Kitab (Mother of the Book). It is also given the name “Suratu'sh-Shifa'” (Healing), for, it is said in a hadith that in (reciting) it, is healing for every disease. See: al-Ittiqan, IV, 137-44 : “Characteristics of the Qur’an”. This shows that there is healing in the Qur’an.

Rabb 1 (Sustainer, Nourisher, Lord)

It is said in verse (1:1): "All praise belongs to Allah, the Sustainer of the (personal) worlds." That is, He nourishes human beings physically, spiritually and intellectually.
