Peace-making and mischief are contrary to each other. Thus, when the noble Qur’an says: “And God loves not mischief” (2:205), this means that God does not love mischief-makers, rather He loves the peace-makers. For here the meaning (i.e. love) is applied to the antonym of the original word.
