6:103
In verse (6:103) God says: “ The eyes attain Him not, but He attains the eyes.” This does not mean that Divine vision is not possible, but it means that when God’s sacred light touches someone’s inner eye, he attains the Divine vision. That is, God out of His mercy, becomes his eye, as the Hadith-I taqarub (tradition about Divine closeness) says that Allah Himself does the work of the external and internal senses of His lover and this is the return to Allah.
Yudriku (He obtains, catches, overtakes)
It is said in verse (6:103): "Eyesights cannot attain Him but He attains (all) eyesights." That is, it is not possible for the human eyesight to see Him, but He Himself becomes the light of the eyes of the cÀrifs, as mentioned in the sacred Hadith on nawafil (supererogatory acts) that God becomes the eye of His friend.

- The inner eye of a mu’min is not capable of elevating itself to reach the heights of honour, to see God and recognise Him, but it is very easy for God to manifest Himself graciously in front of his inner eye.
- One of the names of God is “an-nur” (the Light) and the other is “az-zahir” (the Manifest). This shows clearly that didar (vision) of God and His recognition are possible in this world.
- Reflect on the fact that man himself cannot see the sun, but its rays automatically enter his eyes.
