In this connection It is said: "And God Invites to the abode of peace (dar al-salam), and guides whom He will on a straight path" (10:26). Dar al-salam has four meanings: (a) the abode of peace or ta'yid, (b) the abode of paradise, as it is the name of a paradise, (c) the abode or the house of God, for al-salam is among the names of God, and (d) from one aspect, God Himself, for He is al-salam, which means salamati or peace, namely, light, which is the abode of peace, because salamati or peace is not separate from light.
