It is said in verse (27:82): "When the word shall come to pass concerning them, We shall bring forth a dabbah from the earth who shall speak to them, that (most of) the people did not believe (with certainty) in Our signs." Although it is a single living creature, it has innumerable particles which will spread in the entire universe. Mawla ^cAli (a.s.) has said: "I am the dabbatu'l-arz". (Kawkab, p.199).

Dabbah 5 (That which walks)

It is said in verse (27:82): "And when the word will come to pass concerning them, We shall bring forth a dabbah from the earth who will speak to them, that (most of) the people did not believe in Our signs." Dabbatu'l-arz is one of the hidden names of the exalted Imam, as Mawla ^cAli (a.s.) says: "I am the dabbatu'l-arz". Dabbatu'l-arz is among the signs of resurrection. (Kawkab, p. 199). During the individual resurrection there is the manifestation of countless marvels and wonders of the light of Imamat.

Q131 What is the reality of the dabbatu’l-arz mentioned in verse (27:82), which will appear and speak with the occurrence of resurrection?

A131 When the sur of resurrection is blown, first of all the souls of mu’mins, men and women, fly to the place of the resurrection. These souls have a collective soul, which is called dabbatu’l-arz (i.e. the one which appears from the earth of da^cwat and walks). The ayat (signs) mean the Imam of the time. Thus, it is this dabbatu’l-arz that has the right to speak and say that the people did not recognise the ayat (signs) of God.

In verse (27:82) God says: "And when the word (of Resurrection) is fulfilled concerning them, We shall bring forth a beast from the earth (dabbatu’l-ard) (i.e. the earth of spirituality) who shall speak to them, because they did not believe with certainty in Our signs." By dabbatu’l-ard is meant that rank of Mawla ^cAli in which, when the time comes, he speaks in the form of particles of the soul, and by God’s signs are meant the holy Imams.

This is the light of Mawla ^cAli^(c), which is in the personal world as the da^ci (summoner) of the resurrection.
This is not the external or physical earth, rather it is the earth of the personal world, which is the earth of the dacwat.
The da^ci of resurrection can speak every language.
The ayat of God are the Imams^(c), in whom most people did not believe.
