The most basic and the worst disease is pride (takabbur), which gives birth to all kinds of spiritual diseases. First of all, it was Iblis (Satan) (38:74), who suffered from this disease. Thus Iblis became the root of all evil, because he considered himself very great without justification. In fact, he suffers from a contagious disease, therefore man becomes mad (2:275), or suffers from any other disease by his touch.
