Maghanim (Gains)
In verse (48:20) God has promised many gains. These are the abundant spiritual and intellectual gains or bounties which can be obtained in spiritual and intellectual jihad.
People are not aware of the spiritual jihad although they believe in resurrection, while it is the resurrection itself which is the dawat-i haqq, as well as the spiritual jihad. Thus, where it is jihad, there are also gains in it, such as countless (spiritual) maids, slaves and countless other things. It should be noted that those who enter the religion of Allah by the force of spiritual jihad, eventually also attain salvation.
The subtle body is mentioned everywhere in the Wise Qur’an. If you want to see this in connection with spiritual jihad only, reflect upon those verses where martial words are mentioned such as the verse: "Allah has promised you many gains (maghanim) that you will take." (48:20). This is mention of the subtle body and the conquering of the world as a result of spiritual jihad. Similarly, in verse (57:25) by iron is meant the subtle or astral body. In verse (16:81) you may have realised that the shirts ( sarabil) are subtle bodies. And in the story of Hazrat Sulayman the entire army is made up of particles of this subtle body (27:17), the jinni cIfrit (27:39) and he who knew the spiritual science of the book of the universe was the same living subtle body and Gog and Magog have already been mentioned earlier. It should be remembered that the subtle body is also mentioned in those words related to angels.
Q515 It is mentioned in verse (48:20): “Allah has promised you many gains that you would take”. When did the Muslims obtain these many gains? Has not Allah promised the mu’mins of every age?

- The external jihad is an example and the internal jihad is its meaning (mamsul). This Divine promise is related to internal gains, which are to be found in the entire universe.
- This Divine promise is equally beneficial for mu’mins of all times. That is, the spiritual resurrection takes place in every age through the Imam(c) of the time. This is also the major jihad, in which the religion of Islam becomes victorious in the form of the subjugation of the entire universe.
The esoteric secrets of suratu’l-Fath are very amazing (48:1).
Ta’wili purport: O Our beloved Prophet! We have granted you the gift of the subjugation and victory of the entire universe in the spiritual resurrection = spiritual battle, which is renewed in every spiritual resurrection.
In the same surah in verse (48:20) it is mentioned: “Allah has promised you many gains.”
Ta’wili purport: The promise of these abundant gains is in the spiritual resurrection. The meaning of paradise being the junction of this world and the next world is that the bounties of this world, by being subtle, become the bounties of paradise.
