Tags: Ha'-Mim, `Ayn-Sin-Qaf, Divine Love, al-Hayyu'l-Qayyum
By the Name of Allah, the most Compassionate, the most Merciful.
Surah-yi al-Shura (42:1-4) begins with: "Ha, mim, `ayn, sin, qaf".
Ha = al-Hayy (the Living);
mim = al-Qayyum (the Everlasting);
`ayn = al-`Ali (the Sublime);
sin = al-Salam (the Peace);
qaf = al-Quddus (the Holy).
Read till the end of verse 4.
Second ta'wil:
Ha'-Mim = al-Hayyu'l-Qayyum (the Living, the Everlasting);
`ayn-sin-qaf = `ishq (Divine Love), i.e., the pure love of al-Hayyu'l-Qayyum is the universal of universals (kull-i kulliyyat), i.e., everything, as al-Hayyu'l-Qayyum is the supreme name of God.
Divine love: Surah-yi Baqarah (2:165) says: "Those who are stauncher in God's love". Believers have ardent love, i.e., `ishq for God.
Divine love is not possible without the love for the Prophet (May Allah send blessings and peace through him and his progeny) (3:31).
