Gems of Qur'anic Knowledge and Wisdom - Part 76

Part 76

Tags: Hazrat `Ali, Qur'an

By the Name of Allah, the most Compassionate, the most Merciful.

The wise Qur'an is unique and unprecedented among all the heavenly scriptures. It has a manifest meaning as well as a hidden and each hidden meaning has seven esoteric aspects and according to another narration it has seventy hidden meanings because esoterically the Qur'an is the light of `Ali (a.s) in the Guarded Tablet.

Note that the Divine speech says that the glorious Qur'an is in the Guarded Tablet (lawh-i mahfuz, 85:21-22) and Mawla `Ali (a.s) has said: "I am the Guarded Tablet".36 Thus `Ali (a.s) is the speaking Qur'an (Qur'an-i natiq), the mother of the book (ummu'l-kitab), the giver of the ta'wil of Qur'an (mu'awwil-i Qur'an), the Sacred Sanctuary and the gate of the knowledge and wisdom of the holy Prophet (May Allah send blessings and peace through him and his progeny). It is said in a Prophetic tradition: "Qur'an is with `Ali and `Ali is with the Qur'an".
