Ahl al-bayt (Ahl-i bayt of the Prophet)

It is mentioned in verse (10:87): "And We revealed to Musa and his brother: Provide houses for your people in misr (city=personal world), and make your houses qiblah (places of worship) (i.e. then give them the status of the house of God by enhancing them spiritually), and establish prayer, and give glad tidings to the believers."

The wisdom-filled allusion of this is that God has commanded our Prophet and the cAli of the time to prepare baytu'l-khayal, the luminous house of khayal in the hearts of mu'mins.

Qiblah (House of God)

In verse (10:87) God says: "And We revealed to Musa and his brother: provide some houses for your people in Egypt (misr) and make your houses qiblah (house of God) and establish prayers, and give glad tidings to the believers." This verse has an exoteric aspect and an esoteric aspect.

Thousand Wisdoms 683 (364)

It is related from the holy Prophet in the authentic books that when Hazrat Nuh’s deluge started to happen, the Kacbah, which existed from Hazrat Adam’s time, was lifted to the heaven and made the baytu’l-macmur. An extremely beautiful and great ta’wil of this Hadith is that when the spiritual revolution, which is also called Nuh’s deluge, takes place in the personal world, the house of God which is on the earth of the personal world is lifted to its Sacred Sanctuary and made the baytu’l-macmur.

Such wisdom-filled and magnificent realities and recognitions cannot be acceptable without references from the Qur’an. Thus, the reference to the first house is in verse (24:36) and that to the second house in verse (10:87). However, O my dear friends! Remember that it is imperative to study each word of these references with insight. By the grace of God, I am absolutely sure that these secrets are as they have been described. Thus, you can believe as well as search in order to ascertain the truth, and if there is any doubt, questions can be asked.

Book of Healing (i)

Q134 What are the secrets of wisdom in verse (10:87), in which there appears to be a door of mercy? The verse is: “And We revealed to Moses and his brother (Aaron): Provide houses for your people in Misr, and make your house qiblah (House of God) and establish prayers and give glad tidings to the believers.”

A134 The secrets are:

  • Simultaneous revelation to Hazrat Moses(c) and Hazrat Aaron(c) (the Prophet and the Imam).
  • To build houses for the entire nation in Misr, i.e. the personal world.
  • To make the houses of the personal world qiblah (House of God) by spiritual progress.
  • To establish the most excellent and acceptable prayer in this same House of God.
  • To give glad tidings to the mu’mins by showing an example of paradise in the House of God (sacred Sanctuary). This Divine command is not confined only to Hazrat Moses(c) and Hazrat Aaron(c), but also alludes to the holy Prophet and Mawla cAli in a wisdom-filled way as their relationship resembles that of Hazrat Moses(c) and Hazrat Aaron(c).
Casket of Pearls Vol 1

In verse (10:87), God says: "And We revealed to Musa and his brother: Provide houses for your people in Misr and make your houses places of worship, and establish prayer, and give glad tidings to the mu’mins." Misr is the name of every city which has a protective wall around it and by this is meant the city of spirituality, because not only does it have a protective wall around it, but also a door. Thus in this wisdom-filled verse the spiritual progress of the personal Jamacat-khanahs is mentioned. That is, God commanded the Prophet and Imam to make houses in the city of spirituality for the hudud-i din (religious hierarchy) of their community and to give the status of the House of God to these houses and do the work of true mission (dacwat-i haqq) and give to mu’mins the practical glad tidings of such spiritual progress and ascension.
