17:109

related refs 19:58

Looking at the lustrous countenance of the practical model of the Prophets and Walis in the mirror of the Qur'an, it becomes clear that the first purpose of creating the treasure of the precious pearls of tears is that they should be sacrificed and scattered only in the path of Mawla. For this sacrifice there are many occasions, but the greatest sacrifice in this connection is that the mumins should shed tears of humility, appreciation and gratitude under the influence of the ayats or signs of God and together with them go into the prostration of servitude and remain in it. That is, the greatest virtue in shedding tears is that it should be done under the influence of the Qur'an and the Imam, because it is they who are the sources of the Divine signs (miracles) in front of the mumins. What is said here is in the light of the verses (17:109; 19:58) of the Holy Qur'an.

Studies in Spiritualism and Dreams 31

Prayer and munajat (supplication) is a healing medicine that has been sent down from the heavenly Paradise. It is not bitter like some physical medicines, rather it is extremely sweet and pleasant and enters the heart through the faculties of speech and hearing and thence spreads throughout the existence and encompasses it. There are many signs of the efficacy of this luminous medicine. The best sign is the shedding of tears with serenity and modesty. If a darwish-like Muslim receives this Divine favour, he should prostrate in humility, so that his munajat may be stronger and humility greater. For prayer, giryah-u zari and prostration are such, that they are most liked by the Lord of Honour. Thus, if a mu'min uses this alchemic prescription, there is the glad tiding of internal health for him (17:109).

Zabur (Book of Divine love)

In addition to the synonyms of love and attestation of the Book of Divine love (the Zabur), the states of Divine love are also mentioned in the great Qur’an. For instance: "And they fall down on their faces weeping and this increases their humility." (17:109). Is this not Divine love? Is it not an example of the love which Hazrat Dawud had?
