By the command of the Most Benevolent Lord (rabbu'l-akram), Sur-i Israfil played in the zahir and the bat in of Hazrat Da'ud,and due to the miracle of the melody of Divine love, all things without exception, did tasbih harmoniously with him, and in which the echo of mountains and the singing of birds were prominent, for as God says: "And We subdued the mountains and the birds with Da'ud who were doing tasbih" (21:79). "Verily We gave Da'ud grace from Us, (commanding) O mountains be harmonious with him and (you) birds also" (34:10). This shows that the soul also works in mountains.

What has been said above may cause surprise or one may ask how did vegetables and animals participate in the Divine melodies of Hazrat Da'ud, when the Wise Qur'an mentions only the participation of mountains? Further in the related verses (21:79; 34:10; 38:18) where are the human beings and angels mentioned? The answer is that every statement of the Holy Qur'an is full of wisdom, comprehension and terseness, for as God says in verse (21:79): "And We subdued the mountains (and all their things, namely, vegetables and animals) so that they may do tasbih (together with their wood and animals) and the birds (i.e. human souls and angels) also (do tasbih)". Note that the physical birds are mentioned with mountains and wild animals.

You can believe that Hazrat Dawud was more melodious internally than externally. For he was not only singing the praise of the Lord with his physical tongue, but was also singing Divine songs in the extremely sweet and melodious voice of his soul. As God says: “And We sudden the mountains and birds to hymn (Our) praise along with Dawud. And it is We who can do this.” (21:79). The ta’wil of mountains is great souls and that of birds, ordinary souls. When the resurrecting and miraculous flute was played, both small and great souls entered Hazrat Dawud in the form of subtle particles where they began to hymn in harmony with the melody of Dawud, Jibril, ika’il and Izra’il (a.s). The blissful voIce of naqur continues for years and os only interrupted drinking ordinary sleep.

Pearls of marifat 79

There can be a disease in the bones also, therefore, to prevent or cure it, they also need the light of health and healing. One of the numerous great miracles of the light through which the Perfect Men pass, is related to the bones. And that is, they recite the tasbih (glorification) of God in harmony with them as the mountains of their personal world, as mentioned in the Qur'anic story of Hazrat Dawud, may peace be on him (21:79, 34:10, 38:18). Moreover, the bone of the forehead is the Mount Sinai of the personal world, which is the place of the truth of certainty, where there is nothing but miracles.

Book of Healing (144)

Hazrat Da'ud used to do giryah-u zari and the supplication of heavenly love at every excuse. There is no story and no verse in the Wise Qur'an without a wisdomfilled allusion. Thus, in verses (21:79-80) the Holy Qur'an says that by the command of God, mountains and birds were subjugated to Hazrat Da'ud and were doing tasbih, following him. In this connection the law of recognition (qanun-i marifat) says with great confidence that the subjugation of the world of particles is mentioned in these verses. Here mountains and birds are mentioned in the sense that mountains represent mineral and vegetative kingdoms and birds represent animal and human souls, because the souls fly. Thus, by the blessing of the Holy Qur'an, this great secret has been disclosed to you that the first stage of the subjugation of the universe is the world of particles, which is included in the personal world, and the second is the Sacred Sanctuary.

I am absolutely sure that Hazrat Israfil is the angel of love. The blowing of the sur is the song of love and annihilation for the awliya'. Here there are the great miracles of the stage of Hazrat Izrail and the wonders and marvels of the world of particles as well, and there is the angelic glorification of God by Hazrat Da'ud and together with it, the spiritual harmonious singing of the mountains and birds, as mentioned in verses (21:79; 34:10). It must be remembered that all these miracles of love and annihilation are related to the personal resurrection of the friends of God and the world of particles, because one of the special principles of Sufism is: "Die spiritually before the physical death". Although this act is extremely difficult, it is not impossible. It is neither obligatory (farz), nor necessary (wajib), but is among the supererogatory acts (nawafil), as explained in this book in the "Miracles of Nawafil".
