35:43

Fundamentally, the Divine law (35:43) remains the same forever and no change occurs in the spirit of Islam. Therefore, you should think in this wisdom-filled universal (principle) of the wise Qur’an that every Messenger (of God) has an enemy, who is an embodiment of several satans from mankind and jinn (6:112). Reflect on this verse carefully. It was on this ground that Samiri (20:85) in the time of Hazrat Musa (a.s.), was among the satans from men and hence had the same contagious disease, which other satans have (20:97). Such a disease, in fact, is not external but internal.

Book of Healing (30)

It is an universally accepted fact that the essence and attributes of God, the High, are eternal. Therefore, no change is found in His sunnat. As He says: “Thus you shall never find any changing (tabdil) in God’s sunnat and you shall never find any altering (tahwil) in God's sunnat” (35:43). By God's sunnat is meant His habit or law, a name of the collective position of the acts of His attributes. Tabdil means to choose one thing instead of another, and tahwil means to bring change in the state of the same existing thing. Thus God says: “O Muhammad, although you are on the highest plane of God’s recognition you will never find a law other than this excellent law of God, which you may prefer over it by any means, or that you may completely substitute the latter for the former”. Nor is it possible to find such attributes that may cause alteration in the Divine sunnat by including them in it gradually. Rather, God's sunnat, due to its consummation and perfection in truth and justice, is unchangeable and unalterable.

Balance of Realities (62)

Part 12

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Allah’s sunnat has always continued to be one and the same; there is no change or alteration in it (35:43). Thus, when God honoured Hazrat Adam with the crown of vicegerency, by His mercy seventy thousand souls became his true copies in such a way that in every soul (copy) there was a great angel, a cosmic paradise, a paradisal vicegerency and a kingdom.

Thus, the spiritual resurrection of every Perfect Man brings countless benefits for people. Therefore, God has made him the Imam of humankind (imamu’n-nas) as well as the Imam of the righteous (imamu’l-muttaqin), so that he may benefit and honour all of them according to their knowledge and actions.

This means that God, through the spiritual resurrection of every Perfect Man, makes the people of the entire world enter paradise. It is in this sense that the holy Prophet has said: “The people are God’s household”.4
