55:72
Wisdom 18: In verse (55:72), God says: "Hurts, close guarded in pavilions". That is, the secrets which are kept in the veil of pre-eternity, by knowing which infinite pleasure and happiness are attained. This is because the place where there are the renewal of pre-eternity and the secrets of eternity, is the Holy Sanctuary (haziratu 'l-quds) in which are gathered and united all the pleasures and happiness of religion and the world. Since this treasure is the quintessence of the favours of both the worlds, it is described with the most beautiful examples.
Hur (Women of paradise in the subtle body)
See verses (55:72-74): "Hur cloistered in pavilions, then which of the bounties of your Lord will both of you belie? Whom neither man nor jinn have touched before them." The first wisdom of this Divine teaching is that the wise Qur’an addresses the Muslims of every age. Thus every promise of God is also for the believers of all ages, such as in verse (48:20): "Allah has promised you many gains that you would take."
It should be known that every promise of God is conditional on obedience and knowledge and good deed. Thus the minor resurrection of every successful personal world is the major jihad and universal victory of the religion of Islam. This victory is spiritual and related to the hereafter. In the gains of this unprecedented victory are included the hur and the ghilman of paradise as well.
Q55 What is the ta’wil of verses (55:72-74): “Houris, cloistered in pavilions, then which of the bounties of your Lord will both of you belie? Whom neither man nor jinn did touch before them.”
A55 The ta’wil of these verses is that these are the untouched secrets of the hidden treasure. It is true that in every example a pearl of knowledge is hidden and the supreme realities and recognitions are hidden in the beautiful examples of the houris of paradise.
