2. The literal meaning of rishtah is thread and the relationship among human beings, such as parents and children is called rishtah because of the fact that it is like the thread of a rosary (tasbih), which keeps the beads linked to one another, or a necklace of pearls strung together or the string which keeps a garland of flowers intact. Here, the point should also be remembered that the wise Qur’an has not left any subject or any example outside the domain of its description. Thus, the Qur’anic example of the string of luminosity is ‘Allah’s Rope’ (3:103), and it is also mentioned in the same verse that Muslims are spiritual brothers. You are aware that Islam’s door is open to the people of the entire world (7:158). Thus, the people of every ummat can merge in the unity of the luminous rope by holding fast to God’s rope.
