Allamah Nasir al-Nasir Hunzai
He is the author of over a hundred books related to the esoteric interpretation of the Holy Qur’an. He writes both prose as well as poetry. He is the first person to have a Diwan of poetry in BUrushaski, his mother tongue, and is known as “Baba-i Burushaski” (Father of Burushaski) for his services to that language. He also composes poetry in three other languages: Urdu, Persian and Turkish. His contribution to spiritual science is widely recognised. He is the co-author of a German-Burushaski dictionary published by Heidelberg University, Germany and “Hunza Proverbs” published by Calgary University of Canada. He is a recipient of “Sitarah-i Imtiyaz” awarded by the Government of Pakistan for his contribution to literature.
Danishgah-i Khanah-i Hikmat (DKH)
DKH is a literary organization established by Allamah Nasiruddin Nasir Hunzai originally under the name of Dar-ul Hikmah in Hunza, the northern areas of Pakistan, in early 1960s. The headquarters of this institution was relocated to Karachi in 1977 where the current name of Danishgah-i Khanah-i Hikmat was instituted. DKH is primarily engaged in the publication of the books written by Allamah Nasiruddin Nasir Hunzai which relate to the esoteric philosophy of Islam in general, and that of Ismailism in particular. In addition, formal lectures are delivered regularly at various centers and students are assisted in researching into topics related to Qur’anic Science and Spiritual Wisdom. DKH has branches across the globe, with the key centers being in Karachi, Gilgit, London, Atlanta and Houston.
Allamah Research Institute and Foundation (ARIF)
ARIF was founded in Eastern Canada, in March 1978. Although initially setup to research into the life and works of its patron, its role has now expanded. Today, ARIF is also the international distribution channel for books published by DKH.
Burushaski Research Academy (BRA)
The Burushaski Research Academy was established in 1982 in Hunza and Gilgit (Pakistan) and was later extended to Karachi and Islamabad. Its primary aim is the promotion, research and preservation of the Burushaski language, which is spoken in certain parts of the Northern Areas of Pakistan. The major original work done through it was by Prof. Allamah Nasiruddin Nasir Hunzai (also known as Baba-i Burushaski = The father of Burushaski), the first poet in that language. Prof. Hunzai has also directly collaborated with Prof. Hermann Berger of Hidelberg University (Germany) as the co-author of the first Burushaski-German Dictionary and with Prof. Tiffou of Montreal University in the publication of “Hunza Proverbs”.
