By the Name of Allah, the most Compassionate, the most Merciful.

Surah-yi al-Sajdah (32:1-2) begins with: "Alif, lam, mim".

Alif = azal = abad = awwal = akhir = the light of Muhammad(s) and `Ali (a.s) = [Divine] Pen = [Divine] Throne = Universal Intellect;
Lam = thani = Universal Soul = [Divine] Tablet = [Divine] Pedestal = the Supreme Soul = the Supreme Human = the Manifest Imam (36:12);
Mim = maktub = marqum (writing) = ru'yat = luminous vision = Image of the Compassionate = God's face (wajhu'llah).

Ta'wili purport: The manifest Imam's luminous book is the book in which there is no doubt. It is in the Sacred Sanctuary and it is revealed there by the Sustainer of the worlds.

O brothers and sisters in religion! The wise Qur'an describes those theophanies of the Imam of the time which are in the Sacred Sanctuary as "The book without any doubt". There is no doubt whatsoever in the theophanic book of the holy light of the manifest Imam which is in the Sacred Sanctuary. The wise Qur'an mentions it in three places: al-Baqarah (2:1-2), al-Yunus (10:37) and al-Sajdah (32:2).
