3:163
Good manners started to appear first from the personality of the Holy Prophet, then God conferred on him the rank of Prophethood and Messengership. He, by the command of God, presented a perfect and complete religion to the people, which was the compendium of shariat, tariqat, haqiqat and marifat. It is this religion which is the religion of nature and Islam, and these destinations are ordained so that the mumins may be able to reach God's presence by degrees, for as God says: "They are (of diverse) ranks with Allah." (3:163).
The real return is in this life itself, as the Holy Prophet practically did and showed and that is the event of miraj , which is mentioned in the Quraan in various ways. Miraj literally means “ladder, stairs,” and the ladder is made up of ranks, i.i. the hudud-I din (3:163; 70:4) just as in a material example, if we see the law of progress from the past to the present and from villages to the cities, initially the ladders appear to be very ordinary and then we see the automatic ladders, called elevators or escalators, which lead the people to the top. In the same way, in the initial stages of spirituality one has to struggle hard, then gradually there is ease to the extent that eventually, the living ladders of God start to carry the travelers of spirituality.
As the holy Qur’an gives the concept of the grades of mankind (3:163) and provides examples related to it (32:5; 70:4; 12:76), similarly, there are degrees of taqwa (49:13). And, in fact, it is this very taqwa, which is the norm of honour and nobility of the people of faith. Although there are many other virtues in Islam, the norm and touchstone is taqwa. As it is said in the Qur’an: “Indeed, the noblest of you, in the sight of God, is the foremost in taqwa (atqa)”. (49:13).
Darajat (Ranks, degrees)
Read verse (3:163): "They are (of diverse) ranks with Allah, and Allah sees what they do." That is, there are many ranks of people due to the difference in their knowledge and deeds.
Another example of the ladder of God is:
1. Mustajib
2. Minor Ma’dhun
3. Major Ma’dhun
4. Limited Daci
5. Absolute Daci
6. Hujjat of Jazirah
7. Hujjat-i Huzuri (Muqarrab)
8. Imam
9. Asas
10. Natiq
11. Universal Soul
12. Universal Intellect
As it is mentioned in the Qur’an: "They are ranks with Allah and Allah sees what they do" (3:163), i.e. (hudud-i din) are ranks (darajat) (of proximity) to Allah:
1. Universal Intellect
2. Universal Soul
3. Natiq
4. Asas
5. Imam
6. Hujjat-i Huzuri (Muqarrab)
7. Hujjat of Jazirah
8. Absolute Daci
9. Limited Daci
10. Major Ma’dhun
11. Minor Ma’dhun
12. Mustajib
Wisdom 1. The ranks of proximity to God are only found on the right path, in fact, they themselves are the right path and the ladder of God.
Wisdom 2.You know well that there is a difference between saying "They are ranks" (3:163) and "For them there are ranks" (4:8).
