Hazarat Adam attained peace by this arrangement in the sense that the chain of light had continued in this world (7:189)

Sublime Realities (50)

In the verse (7:189 God says: “He it is Who created (khalaqa) you (in the world of command) from single Soul and then (in world of creation) made (ja’ala) its mate from it, so that it may have peace.” Here arises another question: how was Eve made of Adam? You can reflect upon the above-mentioned verse that there are two words: one is khalaqa and the other is ja’ala and there is the great difference between the two. Why is it so? It is because of the fact that the first word khalaqa is used for creation and the second word ja’ala for the appointment. Had it not been so and Eve had been created for the side Adam, then this would have been the law of nature, and today every woman would have been born not from her parents, but from her husband. This is not true and the reality is something else. That is, no man can be called husband unless he has his wife and no woman can be called wife unless she has her husband. Thus as the position of a wife is determine because of the husband, so are the relative value and meaning of husband determined because of his wife. Thus their designation is not one but two sided. This example is applicable to spiritual husband and wife also.

Sublime Realities (47)

One of the Qur'anic names of Hazrat Adam, may peace be on him, is nafs-i wahidah (7:189, 39:6), on the measure of fa`ilah, which means “one” and also “the one who makes one”. Thus if you search carefully in the above verses, you will come to know that in the world of particles of Hazrat Adam, the Father of mankind, the particles of the souls of all human beings had come into being while the peace-giving existence (wujud-i sakinat) of Hazrat Hawwa’, may peace be on her, was not yet made from him. For the spirit (light) of God which was breathed into Hazrat Adam, the vicegerent of God, had with it a huge world of souls and angels. This is the definition of nafs-i wahidah.

Book of Healing (118)

God, Who is alone and has no partner, is only One; He has only one law (sunnat) and He, according to the law of oneness, created only one human being (i.e. Adam, may peace be on him) and from him brought into existence his spouse (7:189, 39:6) and from both of them He spread forth all human beings. In the same way, in the world of language (`Alam-i lisan), God first uttered only one Word, which is the fountainhead of all meanings, as Hazrat Adam was the source of all human beings (4:1). And from the meaning of the first Word, created another Word which is blessed like Hazrat Hawwa’, may peace be on her. Then other words were made, as the children of Adam gradually spread in this world. This means that whichever the language, the mutual semantic link of its words is like the relation of the families, tribes and nations of the children of Adam. Thus, if you wish, even now in your conception you can see all human beings in Hazrat Adam.

Q56 In verse (7:189), the Qur’an says: “He it is Who created you from a single soul, and from it made his spouse that he may rest in her (li-yaskuna ilayha).” Is this the mention of physical creation of the people or their spiritual creation (in the form of particles)?

A56 This is the spiritual creation of the people. You may remember the wisdom search in which this truly great secret was mentioned that in the stage of Hazrat cIzra’il, countless subtle copies of the Perfect Man are created. These copies are man, jinn, pari, houris and ghilman (youth) of paradise as well, and they have many names.
