27:93

related refs 41:53, 51:20, 36:12

Q. O my very dear spiritual brothers and sisters! Can you furnish a proof that the spiritual didar (vision) of the single light of the Qur'an and the Imam and its pre-etemal secrets is possible?
A. Yes, God willing. In verse (27:93), God says: "And say: Praise (al-Hamd = Hamd) belongs to God. Soon will He show you His signs (ayat) so that you shall recognise them." That is, Hamd or the Universal Intellect belongs to God, and at the level of the Intellect He will show His signs (the Pen, the Tablet, the Qur'an, etc.) and you will attain their spiritual and intellectual recognition. All the ayat (signs, miracles 41:53) which are necessary for the attainment of recognition are encompassed and gathered in the single light of the Qur'an and the Imam (36:12).

Manifestations of Wisdom 40

Hudud-i Din: Just as the recognition of God is not possible outside the personal world of a mumin, so also the recognition of the hudud-i din is not possible outside his personal world, as is said in verse (27:93): “And say: the Hamd (Praise) belongs to Allah. Soon He will show you His signs (ayat) and you will recognise them." In this blessed verse by the signs are meant the hudud-i din and the Hamd is the name of the Universal Intellect. In brief, this means that in the light of Intellect with the recognition of your soul, you will also see and recognise the hudud-i din.

Rubies and Pearls 78

There are certain verses at the end of some Quraanic surahs, which contain tremendous knowledge and wisdom and which are called “khawatim (endings) by the scholars of Quraanic sciences. One such verse, at the end of the surah of Naml (Ant, 27), is : “And say: Praise belongs to Allah. Soon will He show you His signs so that you shall recognize them. Your Lord is not heedless of what you all do.” (27:93). This wisdom-filled address of the holy Quraan is to the entire mankind through the holy prophet, in which the appearance, observation and recognition of Devine miracles in the form of material and spiritual science is prophesied. This is the congenial mention of those great signs and miracles, by observing which at the level of aynul yaqin (eye of certitude) and haqqul yaqin (the truth of certitude) the steadfast spiritual seeker attains recognition of his personal world and the recognition of God.

Wonders And Marvels of Spiritual Science 10

Hudud-i Din: Just as the recognition of God is not possible outside the personal world of a mu'min, so also the recognition of the hudud-i din is not possible outside his personal world, as is said in verse (27:93): "And say: the Hamd (Praise) belongs to Allah.

According to the promise of the Qur'an, the people of insight are able to see the signs (miracles) of God (27:93; 41:53; 51:20). However, it is not said that one should be content only with a few of them. If the Divine mercy accompanies you and you start to receive the fruit of your ibadat and spiritual discipline, you will see all the necessary miracles related to knowledge, wisdom and the secrets of the universe. The experience which comprises all these meanings is called marifat (recognition). In fact, marifat is given precedence over all meanings, because it becomes complete after fana' fi'llah (annihilation in God).

God's Kingdom is seen by every individual according to his knowledge. Arifs see it in the illumination of the light of recognition and they say: (a) By the Supreme Pen and the Guarded Tablet are meant the Universal Intellect and the Universal Soul, who are the intellect and soul of our universe. In this sense, the universe is the macro-man whereas the human being is the micro-man. (b) If the entire universe together with its parts is like a living and conscious man, the theories of material science about the existence of the universe do not appear to be correct, because there is no concept of the Creator and the created in them. (c) The people of recognition say that the human heart shows God (haqq) as well as realities (haqa'iq), therefore, they can see the miracles of God within themselves, as mentioned in verses (27:93; 41:53; 51:20). (d) It is also a proof of recognition that the secular scientist has not yet seen the soul, when he will see the particle of soul, his theories will change.

Q388 The following verse (27:93) is at the end of Suratu’n-Naml (the Ant), therefore it has great significance: “And say: Praise be to Allah Who will show His signs (ayat) so that you will recognise them.” It is obvious that such ayat or signs are extraordinarily important. Are these signs in the external world and within their souls? Are the great secrets of the sacred Sanctuary within these signs and miracles as well? Is not God’s vision a very great sign or miracle?

A388

  • Yes, these are the extraordinary signs or miracles of the external world and their souls (41:53).
  • There is no doubt that the greatest signs and miracles are in the sacred Sanctuary.
  • The holy vision of God is the greatest sign and the greatest miracle, and recognition is related to it.

Q488 Is there any allusion in verse (27:93) that shows at which destination these miracles are and what it is called?

A488

  • Yes, the allusion is in al-hamdu li’llah that all those great miracles are gathered at the destination of Intellect, which is in the sacred Sanctuary, because hamd means the Intellect.
  • Another name of the sacred Sanctuary is the circle of Imam-i mubin (36:12).
