82:10
Q. 4. It is said in the Glorious Qur'an that in paradise, the people of paradise will be given every bounty according to their desire. Here the question is if someone wants the kingdom of this world in paradise, then how would it be possible to have this world in the next?
A. The next world is concealed in this world, but this world is existing and appearing in the next, for the next world is a living and conscious mirror, in which the picture ( aaks) of this world becomes eternally alive. Thus among the bounties of paradise, the subtle aspect of this world is also included. For, if a scientist despite being a powerless human being can create a world of film and its numerous copies, then the great angels who are appointed by God, the Omnipotent, to record the individual and collective deeds of mankind, can create far greater conscious and real worlds (82:10-12).
Kiraman Katibin: In verses (82:10-11) the honourable angels who protect men and make entries in their records of deeds are mentioned. Here we will not discuss who these angels are, whether they are the four closest angels, or not? But it has become evident that the personal world is not devoid of angels. Here it should be noted that innumerable angels work in the form of one angel. The reason for this is that the great angels are linked to the world of oneness.
Many subjects can be discussed under the title “Religion and Science”. Today we will discuss “Kiraman Katibin” and explain some realities and macrifat in connection with this. Kiraman Katibin (Honourable and Generous Recorders) are angles who record our deeds. As the Holy Qur'an says: “wa inna alaykum la-hafizina Kiraman Katibina yalamuna ma tafalun” (Lo! there are above you recorders (of all your deeds), honourable, generous and recording (angles), who know all that you do). (82:10-12).
Q116 It is mentioned in verses (82:10-11): “And verily over you there are recording (and guardian angels), noble scribes.” Please tell us whether the scribes are two or more? Further, are the meanings of “kaiÄm” and “karam” also implied in the word “kiram” or not?
A116 These angels are two as well as many more, because in their place many angels come and go in turns. For the meanings of the word “kiram”, which has many excellent meanings, see al-Munjid.
Q394 It is mentioned in verses (82:10-11): “And verily there are over you the honourable scribes who remember (your deeds).” How do these angels remember the words and deeds of human beings and how do they write? Do they record the language spoken by human beings or do they translate this into a particular language? Do the angels write with their hands?

- If you accept that the silent revolution of ta’wil has come, then the answers to these questions are easy. The angels record all our deeds through spiritual pictures (tamathil). Tamathil is the name of spiritual films.
- They record human speech as it is without translating it.
- Angels do not write with the hand as human beings do.
