From the light of Intellect is created the earth of personal world. The earth also, in reality, is one, but its grades, like those of the heaven, are seven (65:12). This point should be noted that as, from the number one, a world of numbers and the things related to it come into existence, the heaven and the earth of the personal world and all other things related to them, come into existence from the light of Intellect (Pearl of Intellect). And all this has been done by the Hand of God (dast-i qudrat).

Q.6. Would you kindly explain the nature of the seven heavens and the seven earths.

A. The proper answer to this question is in verse (65:12), in which God says: "Allah is He Who created seven heavens and as many earths. His command continues to be revealed among them." That is, six Natiqs and Qa'im are the seven heavens of the world of religion and their Hujjats are the seven earths. By the command of God, every heaven of the world of religion, gradually makes its respective earth heaven and its vicegerent. Similarly, in every minor cycle, the seven Imams are the seven heavens and their Hujjats, the seven earths. The same is the spiritual system of the personal world, and these are the sabu'l-mathanl (15:87), that is, the seven verses which continue to be repeated.

SEVEN:
In verse (65:12) the Quraan says: “Allah is He Who created seven heavens and as many earths.” The seven heavens of the major cycle of the world of religion are: Hazrat Adam, Hazrat Nuh, Hazrat Ibrahim, Hazrat Musa, Hazrat Isa and Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa and Hazrat Qaim, and the seven earths are the six Asases and Hujaat the seven heavens of the mirror cycle are the seven Imams and the seven earths are their Seven Babs. An important question: How are these seven heavens of spirituality placed? Are they separate like material things or are they united? If they are united, what can their example be?
A. They are not separate, because God has created them, one above the other and the example of their unity is “light upon light”, which has been mentioned in the article of “Veil and Mazhar”. Here another example is presented:\\ 1,1,1, 1, 1, 1, 1
These are Separate shapes of the number one, and if they are pushed forward in the direction of thearrow and placed on the top of the last one (67:3; 71:15), they will appear as one, such as this “1”’ which is one as well as seven. Its being one is obvious, but we need the proof of being seven. The proof is that the law of unity has made seven one, as we have seen in the above example.

In verse (65:12) God says: "Allah is He Who created seven heavens and of the earth like them." That is, there is an earth under every heaven. Thus, there are seven heavens and seven earths. The recognition of these heavens and earths in the world of religion and in the personal world is such that the lords of the seven cycles are the seven heavens and their abwab (sing. bab, gates) are the seven earths.

Seven Heavens and Seven Earths:

Question: What are the meanings of seven heavens and seven earths?

Answer: Your question is related to the verse (65:12) in the Qur’an. It should be known that according to new research in spiritual and physical science, the sun is situated in the very centre of the great globe of this universe, and surrounding it are fixed fourteen hypothetical circles which are larger and larger towards the outside and smaller and smaller towards the inside, like the layers of an onion. Among these, the outer seven circles are regarded as heavens and the inner seven circles as earths and these should be termed universal heavens and universal earths.

Q363 What is the proof that God had granted Hazrat Adam(c) the vicegerency of the entire universe?

A363

  • In verse (65:12), it is mentioned: “It is God Who created seven heavens and of the earth, their like.”
  • That is, there is an earth under every heaven. Thus, there are seven heavens and seven earths in this universe.
  • Heavens are sometimes used in the plural in the wise Qur’an as samawat and sometimes in singular as sama’. Similarly, the seven earths in the Qur’an are used in singular as arz.
  • It is because of this that in verses (4:97; 29:56; 39:10) it is mentioned as: “God’s earth is spacious”. It must be remembered that God’s most spacious earth is in spirituality.
  • It must be noted that the universe from one aspect is the heaven and from the other, it is the earth. The proof of this is that the heaven, the earth and paradise are all equal in spaciousness (3:133; 57:21). This means that there is only one thing, which is the heaven, the earth, as well as paradise both externally and internally. Thus, it is evident that God had made Hazrat Adam(c) His vicegerent in the interior and exterior of the universe.

These are the seven heavens and the seven earths according to ta’wil and collectively they are the universal paradise.

The verse of Lamp (24:35) has many secrets. If the Lord of spiritual resurrection blesses us with his luminous ta’yid, a special ta’wili wisdom can be presented. You know that there are two worlds: the physical and the world of religion. Thus, the heavens and earths are both physical and religious or spiritual.

Thus, it is a fact that Allah, the true worshipped, may His name be mighty, is the light of the seven heavens and the seven earths (65:12) of the world of religion, which are: the first heaven is Adam(c), the second is Noah(c), the third is Abraham(c), the fourth is Moses(c), the fifth is Jesus(c), the sixth is Muhammad(s), and the seventh is the qa’im(c). Thus the lord of every cycle is the heaven of the world of religion and his supreme hujjat is its earth. Accordingly Hazrat qa’im(c) is the seventh heaven of the world of religion and his supreme hujjat is its earth. Now, by Mawla’s grace it becomes crystal clear that Allah, the true worshipped, is the light of intellect and soul of the seven heavens and the seven earths of the world of religion. Al-hamdu li’llah!
