Q. O my azlzan\ Tell me in the light of the Holy Qur'an, how can the word certainty be the synonym of recognition? A. It is said in verse (6:75): "Thus We used to show Ibrahim the order (nizam) of the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, so that he may be of those who have certainty (i.e. the people of recognition)".

Malakut - Spirituality

Q. 98. What does malakut mean and which world is this? Is it mentioned in the Qur'an? If so, where and how? We need some essential information in this connection.

A. Malakut has several meanings, such as greatness, power, predominance, grandeur, kingdom etc. and by it is meant the world of souls and angels. Malakut is mentioned in the Qur'an in the verses (6:75; 7:185; 23:88 and 36:83). It is said: "And thus We showed Ibrahim the malakut (spirituality)  of the heavens and the earth that he may be of those possessing certainty" (6:75). He observed this spirituality with his spiritual eye, within himself. This is the place of 'aynu'l - yaqin (the vision of certainty), whose goal is haqqu'l-yaqin (the truth of certainty). On the one side, there are the internal and spiritual things of the heavens and the earth and on the other, the external and physical things. The Lord of the World has mentioned both these things in the same one verse, so that the wise people may conceive that the malakut differs from the nasut (the world of human beings). Think well also about the verse (7:185)!

The verse (23:88) indicates that the spirituality (malakut) of everything is in the Hand of God and protection and salvation are only in the recognition of this spirituality.

The wisdom of the verse (36:83) tells us that the One (God = Subhan) in Whose powerful Hand is preserved the spirituality of everything is Himself free from and above everything. Therefore, in every respect, malakut or spirituality is only for the mu'mins. All things in their physical form are nasut and in their spirituality, they are malakut.

What is Soul 75

Dhahib 3 (Salik of the path of spirituality)

The first destination of the blessed spiritual journey of Hazrat Ibrahim is the night of the esoteric aspect of religion (batin), the second destination is the star, the third the moon, the fourth the sun and then he had the great bliss of micraj (study carefully verses 6:75-79).

Thousand Wisdoms 353 (191)

Malakut is mentioned in four places in the wise Qur’an, which are : 6:75, 7:185, 23:88 and 36:83. Malakut means a magnificent kingdom, sovereignty, rule, the world of angels, angels and the place of spirit and spirituality. This title of “Secrets of Malakut and Medicine” begs the question: How can the macrifat of the secrets of the magnificent kingdom of God, the Exalted, be attained? Is there any link between medicine and sovereignty and the rule of God, Who is the Creator, Master and King of the universe and the existents? If so, how?

Wisdom 10: In these stars (nujum, kawakib) and lamps (masabih) there is great trial, because there is the possibility of greatest deviation as well as of successful guidance. Next comes the light of the moon and finally at the rank of azal (pre-eternity), the sun of the light of intellect (6:75-79) rises and the morning of azal and the evening of abad (post-eternity) is seen, but between the two there is only a span of a few minutes. The reason for this is that at this place, the Divine hand enfolds every thing which is spread out, for as God says: “And everything with Him is in a measure” (13:8). This is the misbah (chiragh-I rawshan) which, in the form of the sun of intellect, always rises and sets at the rank of azal.

Chirᾱgh-I Rawshan (26)

Q436 A brief, very necessary and extremely difficult question in reference to verse (6:75) is: Where did God show Hazrat Abraham(c) the kingdom (malakut) of the entire universe?

A436

  • It was in the personal world, because the universe and its kingdom are brought to the personal world for the purpose of observation and recognition.
  • Particularly in the sacred Sanctuary where there is not only everything, but also God’s beatific vision and kingdom.
  • Study the four verses (6:76; 7:185; 23:88; 36:83) concerning kingdom (malakut), and reflect upon them carefully.
