16:89

The subject of the Divine Treasures is extremely important in the Wise Qur'an. For according to the verse: "The Book is an explanation for everything" (16:89) there is the explanation of everything in the Qur'an: In the sense that explanation of some is both In a direct and indirect way and that of some only in an indirect way. And the subject of the Divine Treasures is mentioned in both a direct and indirect way.

Precious Treasures 33

Explanation of Everything in the Qur'an: The Wise Qur'an is the most perfect and unique Book of God, and no necessary thing is left unmentioned in it (16:89). This explanation increases the importance of reflecting on the exoteric and esoteric aspects of it, because from this Divine fountainhead of knowledge and wisdom the chain of gradual guidance continues according to the requirements of time and place. In this case, it is utterly impossible to assume that there is no fundamental solution to the many problems which have been thrown up as a result of the scientific revolution in an universal and most comprehensive Book, such as the Wise Qur'an. How can we emerge from the rigorous siege of these problems unless we become self-sufficient in scientific inventions and manufactures?

Rubies and Pearls 66

A clear proof of the pre-eternal and post-eternal grandeur, majesty, glory and nobility of the Wise Qur'an is its universal comprehension of knowledge. Its wisdom- filled explanation comprises everything, including the pre-eternal (azali) and post-eternal (abadi) or the timeless realities and recognitions. As God, the Exalted, says: "And We have sent down on you the Book (Qur'an) as a (clear) explanation of everything" (16:89).

Sweet Smelling 22

Although the world today has become greatly equipped with external sciences and arts and there is no scarcity of material methods of cure, some of which are admirably effective and useful, yet, they are limited to the extent of physical cure. However, there is no complaint about these methods. For man, by himself, can in no way cure the soul nor can he see its diseases, unless he has due recourse to the Qur’an and the sunnat of the holy Prophet, since the medical aspect of the noble Qur’an is also sufficient healing, superb and unique in every respect.

Being the Divine speech, it is a perfect, complete and unique book and such a universal record of guidance, that it has no precedent. It contains complete knowledge and explanation of all matters related to body and soul (16:89). You might have heard that, during the time of Prophethood, among the great companions of the Prophet, (may God be pleased with them), there was very little illness. The cause of this collective health can be none other than the Qur’an and the Teacher of the Qur’an, for they used to act upon those Divine prescriptions of prevention and health, which are recorded in the Qur’an.

Book of Healing (22)

There is no doubt that the holy Qur’an is not a book of physical medicine, nor is its goal such a limited work. It is the heavenly Book of universal guidance revealed from God, the Exalted, the Blessed, to Hazrat Muhammad, the Chosen, the Seal of the Prophets, may peace and salutation of God be upon him and his progeny. Yet, the sense in which it contains and comprises all sciences and is unique and unprecedented in knowledge and wisdom and an explanation of everything (16:89), it should be accepted with faith and love that, in addition to many other dimensions, it also has a dimension of spiritual science, which besides many other useful things, contains allusions to the science of healing or curative science.

Book of Healing (27)

We would also like to mention here that, one bright proof of the wise Qur’an, being incomparable and comprehensive of all the sciences, is that it has been revealed from the higher world, perfectly adorned with the characteristics, virtues, realities and recognitions of the command “Be”, the Divine Pen, the Guarded Tablet and the Treasures of God. Thus, truly speaking, the holy Qur’an is the greatest favour of God to mankind, for it contains the most perfect guidance for the betterment and health of soul and body and religion and the world of man (16:89).

Book of Healing (123)

There are as many subjects in the wise Qur’an, as there are different meanings of words with respect to root. Even if a word is not frequently used and is used only once or twice, still it is a complete subject for every Qur'anic word has synonyms relating to its form and meaning. Thus it is a great miracle of the noble Qur’an that it contains the explanation of everything (16:89). My last suggestion is that you should consider the holy Qur’an a wisdom-filled and unprecedented university of God and continue to study its realities and recognitions, step by step, with the concept of progression, so that you may attain complete healing! Amin!

Book of Healing (132)

Everything is mentioned in the wise Qur’an (16:89), therefore paris are also mentioned in it. They are mentioned in the subject of jinn, which is spread over fifty different places. The longest description of jinns i.e. paris is in the Suratu'l-jinn (72). In this Surah, in verse (72:6) the following words are also mentioned: “Rijalun mina'l-jinn (some men from among jinns)”. This means that there are men as well as women among jinns. A male jinn in Arabic is called jinni and a female jinniyyah. (See al-Munjid, al-Mawrid, Madd al-Qamus, etc.).

Book of Healing (182)

Bacdi cilm (After knowledge)

There is the explanation of everything in the wise Qur’an externally and internally and the correct answer to every question (16:89). There is also this great secret in it that at the end of spiritual observations, comes the fountainhead of intellect and knowledge and after that there is nothing, as said in verse (22:5): "So that, after knowledge, he knows nothing." That is, everything is confined in the treasure of the knowledge of God, and therefore, there is nothing beyond and above it.

Thousand Wisdoms 171 (96)

Kullu shay'in (Everything, all things)

The wise Qur’an is the perfect and complete Book in whose exoteric and esoteric aspects there is the explanation of everything (16:89). The magnificent and unique universal principle which is the treasure of its heart cannot be praised by us human beings and that universal principle full of the quintessence of wisdom is: "And We have encompassed everything in a manifest Imam." (36:12) That is, all spiritual and intellectual subtle things of the kingdom of God can be found gathered and enfolded in the manifest Imam, provided someone recognises himself or herself..

Thousand Wisdoms 732 (387)

First of all, you have to accept that there is an explanation of everything in the Wise Qur'an (16:89) in a wisdom-filled way. Consider in verses (25:61; 71:16; 78:13) how God has created the sun as a glowing and dazzling lamp. This wisdom-filled allusion indicates that the sun is indeed the atomic lamp of our universe, the flame of which is renewed repeatedly due to which a bilateral movement is created in the entire solar system. One movement is towards the sun from all directions of the universe and the other is towards the edge of the universe from the sun (see the article: "The World-illumining Sun=The Luminous Lamp" in this book).

Practical Sufism and Spiritual Science (4)

No secular scientist or philosopher knows the great secrets of Divine power hidden in the sun. The reason for this is that the treasure of special secrets of the universe and existents is hidden in the Qur'anic wisdom, because the Wise Qur'an is that unique Book in which there is the explanation of everything (16:89). The eminence of spiritual science can be estimated from this.

Practical Sufism and Spiritual Science (32)

In verse (16:89), God says: "And We have revealed to you the Book as an explanation of everything and a guidance, a mercy and a glad tidings for those who submit." It is evident from this verse that the Glorious Qur'an encompasses all necessary and useful sciences and there is nothing outside the domain of its knowledge and wisdom and spirit and spirituality.

(1) This verse has four headings: (a) For the people of the inner eye there is the explanation of everything in the exoteric (zahir) and esoteric (batin) aspects of the Holy Qur'an. (b) The Holy Qur'an is the clear guidance for progress in this world and in the next, so that the Muslims of the world may excel over others. (c) It is mercy, i.e. it is the means of ethical and spiritual progress. (d) It is glad tidings, i.e. whoever acts upon it can receive the spiritual and luminous glad tidings and this is an allusion to complete spirituality and rank of recognition.

Practical Sufism and Spiritual Science (77)

Another proof of this fact is that the Qur'an is the Book of God in which there is explanation of everything (16:89) and the Imam of the time is the holy personality in whom is encompassed everything (36:12).

The Holy Qur'an and the Light of Imamat (3)

Wisdom 17

What a great act of negligence and ignorance has been committed by us that we did not reflect and deliberate on the unique wisdoms of the heavenly Book of guidance (the Qur'an) in time. As a consequence, we have lagged far behind others in science, technology and material progress, despite the fact that there is everything in the symbolism of the wisdom-filled Book of Allah, for as it is said in the Qur’an, "And We have revealed the Book to you wherein everything has been described" (16:89).

Forty Wisdoms of Jihad (15)

Part 47

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

It is mentioned in al-Itqan: “God revealed one hundred and four books, the knowledge of which He kept in four books: Taurah, Gospel, Psalms and Furqan, then He kept the knowledge of the previous three books in the Furqan (i.e. the Qur’an)”.39

Thus, God says in verse (16:89): “And We have revealed the book to you as an explanation of everything.” The wise Qur’an is linked to the revealed Light (5:15), the Guarded Tablet (85:21-22), the hidden Book (56:77-78), Imam-i mubin (36:12), the Pen (96:4) and the speaking Book (23:62; 45:29) internally.

It is mentioned in verse (15:91): “Those who break the Qur'an into parts.” That is, they considered the wise Qur’an separate from the sources with which it is linked internally. For, this great secret has been revealed that the one who recognises his soul through the cirfani resurrection, recognises his Lord and observes the inner miracles of the Qur’an in the light of Imam-i mubin.

Purified be God from the attributes of His creatures! All necessary macrifats are gathered together and united.

The Wise Qur’an and the World of Humanity (54)

The holy Qur’an which is the last book of the Lord of the world is the compendium of everything (16:89). All the teachings and guidance of [the levels of] sharicat, tariqat, haqiqat and macrifat are mentioned in it. It is tanzil as well as ta’wil, it is manifest as well as hidden, it is knowledge as well as wisdom, it is the fruit as well as its kernel. Therefore, not only are the commands relating to the past mentioned in its exterior and interior, in fact it does not lack guidance for the present and the future. However, to see and understand all these things human beings require the Divine light, which is always present in this world along with the Qur’an (4:174).

Treasure of Knowledge (20)

Q524 In the higher world the soul of every individual is like his physical form, but since that is the subtle world it is on the perfect level of beauty and elegance. Is there any wisdom-filled allusion to this fact in the wise Qur’an?

A524 • Indeed, there is the explanation of everything in the Qur’an (16:89). Reflect on the wisdom of verses (17:99; 36:81) in which by misl (like) is meant the soul: “Is not He who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like (misl) of them?” (36:81) That is, Allah is able to create “likes” of them, taking them from their bodies to their homomorphic souls. • See also verses (56:61; 76:28). This is called jism-i misali (body of similitude) and the same is every individual’s homomorphic soul.
